Beach Bunny Family Hats

 

 

Sized for the entire family — from newborn to large adult. The extra dense cup-shaped ears add a jaunty touch, as does the sweet bunny face. Designed by Amy Sessions. Inspired by her daughter’s enchantment with the bunnies that visit their yard in Hudson, Florida.

The word “Florida” conjures images of alligators, snakes and panthers, but designer Amy Sessions celebrates a more gentle species of local wildlife, the rabbit, with this adorable hat she designed to honor her daughter’s favorite animal. At Amy’s home near Orlando, the marsh rabbits visit her yard regularly, hopping along to the delight of mother and child alike.

This adorable hat is knit in the round in simple stockinette. The ears are knit separately and sewn onto the crown. It’s an easy knit and perfect if you’re new to knitting in the round. I see one for each person in the family for Spring or Easter group photos!
